Say hello to our new beagle buddy!
He was born on Dave's birthday and will be ready to come home with us the end of May. All five of us are totally in love with him, and can't wait for that day. :)
Ironically, on the day puppy was born, Dave had a very surreal experience. He was driving in some slow traffic and a car pulled up alongside him. The window came down and a little white dog that looked identical to Maggie (our American Eskimo that died in February due to old age) stuck her head out the window, looked at Dave and barked a couple of times. The dog then put his/her head back inside of the car, and the window rolled up. He decided that Maggie was trying to get a message to us that it was time to get another dog. LOL Weird, huh?
So, in 7 short weeks we will welcome a dog back into our home. It has seemed so strange without one. I am not sure what the neighbors will think. :) A few of them have remarked that they miss seeing Dave take Mikey for a "bike" through the neighborhood. Mikey knew exactly what Dave meant when he said, "Want to go for a bike?" It meant Mikey could run to his heart's content. And Mikey would be sure to let everyone know he was coming. :)
I want to give a shout out to Toni at CR Beagles who has been so helpful and informative as we waited for the right timing to get another beagle. She has some beautiful beagles and we are excited to be purchasing one from her.
As you may have noticed, we have not yet named him. We are currently in the midst of a stalemate. Nobody liked my awesomely perfect puppy name, "Beau". So, we are back arguing about it. I say, arguing, but it's all in good fun. We have it narrowed down to 2 names. But, we are currently accepting name suggestions in the comments section, if you care to weigh in. :)

I Like the names Elvis and Camper
hooray! i am SOOOO happy for your family. i LOVE dog naming. here are a few i think are fun: frisbee, rigby, macgyver (mac), magnum, (can you tell i'm stuck in the 80's?), prince, oliver (ollie), dudley, baron, asher, zeke, harley, and duncan.
what i really love is finding something that is meaningful to your family. like, i'd like to name a boy dog "frisco" b/c that is where we go on vacation. do you have anything like that?
what a darling pup! can't wait for you to bring him home.
He is precious. It's always fun coming up with a name. Good luck.
i also like scout. i think it's perfect for a beagle since they are such sniffers.
and i think rookie would be fun since this is a new dog to you.
The boys have some name suggestions. Nick says Buckeye. Jon says Brutus (in fact after looking at the pic he said, "That is definitely a Brutus!") So after all those OSU themed names, you could go with Herbie for the Huskers! One last one, and it is from Carter...Patch. Carter likes Patch.
My kids are all talk about this! I liked the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid and thought Fregley or would make a cute dog name. Don't ya think?
Butch. Butch the Beagle. Except I remember once that dogs respond well to R names which sounds like a lot of hooey but . . .
Ranger
Roscoe
Rodeo
Actually you shouldn't ask me. My dog's name is Curlisse.
my dog's name is ruby and i am here to tell you that dog's don't necessarily respond well to r names! but here's another r option...reggie.
i suppose i should think of something other than naming your puppy, but i'm still going...
boaz (it's biblical!)
atticus
jasper
your other dogs had people names, so i'm thinking you might names like...
charlie
henry
hank
brody
jake or
ndamukong :)
Funny that Mindee would recommend Ranger as a name!
I was also thinking of the Greg's best friend on Diary of a Wimpy kid is Rowley. Can you tell I'm stuck on that movie? Rowley goes with Mindee's 'R' idea and is better than Fregley, I decided.
Yay! Congrats on the new puppy! That's so exciting! I won't offer up any name suggestions, since apparently nobody likes the name "Dack" : )
