Little Known Fact

It is probably not something many people know about me, but I am extremely patriotic. I take seriously honoring the country I am blessed to live in. And, even more than that I am passionate about honoring and respecting the veterans who have given me the freedoms I have today.

I am soooo very proud to say I am the daughter and grandaughter of veterans. Two World War II veterans and a Vietnam veteran. The picture above is me and my grandpa who went to Germany for his service in WWII. My dad and granddads are men to be honored for their service to our country. I call my dad every year on Veteran's Day and thank him for his service and tell him how proud I am to be his daughter. I choke up every time.

I am humbled in the presence of veterans for the price paid by them, their families, and their comrades who never returned. So, this Memorial Day remember:

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
God bless them all and God bless America!
