Joey is having a great first year of Cross Country. As we suspected, the coaches wondered where he was last year. They were quite impressed that he ran the 1/2 marathon with Dave this spring, and that he was competitive from the get-go. Right now he is the top junior varsity runner challenging for a spot on the varsity team.
After last year spending a most miserable season playing football, and a less than satisfying baseball season hampered with injuries, Dave and I are thrilled to see him happy and thriving.
Never having been involved in Cross country before, this is a brand new experience for all of us. Even Dash can come along to the meets. And he is having a ball meeting new "friends".
Ok, he doesn't look too happy in this picture, but trust me he loves it. He met a fellow beagle at one meet, and they were absolutely a sight together.
Almost made me want to go out and get a second beagle. Key word...almost.

Congratulations to Joey! It's great when they finally find their niche. Looks like he's going to have a fun road a head of him!
And that Dash, is he the cutest puppy ever....well, next to our Archie of course!
Glad he's making friends!
I've always thought that Joey looked like a distance runner. I'm glad he's found his niche.
(Is that the right word? I thought so, but now it looks weird.)
So glad that Joey found his calling! Good for him and good for Dash for finding doggie friendship!
Run, Joey, run!!
Go, Joey, Go.....We are proud of you!
